Revival Tabernacle was established as a new church plant in 1976 in Castro Valley, affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI).
After many years of growth and renting various buildings, our congregation was finally able to purchase a building in Niles, Fremont. Under the leadership of Pastor Steven J. Kerr, beginning in 1984, consistent, doctrinal, teaching fostered steady growth in the establishment of new outreach ministries (ASL/Deaf, Van Transport, Spanish-speaking) and the retirement of our building mortgage in 2014. While now, independent in affiliation, Revival Tabernacle remains part of a large worldwide fellowship of like minded Apostolic Pentecostal churches.
Having faithfully served our congregation and community for 25 years, Pastor Kerr retired in 2019. Brother J. Daniel Gillespie was chosen to succeed him as Pastor, having pastored our Spanish-speaking congregation “Iglesia de la Verdad” previously. New souls have been added to the church and growth continues. Our new ministries include Vacation Bible School (VBS), Bible Quizzing, Spanish Interpretation, Vintage Saints (55 & better).
Pastor and Sister Gillespie, along with their children, William, Jackson, Elena, and Sofia, are committed to continuing the legacy of biblical teaching and spirit-led Revival passed on from Pastor Kerr. The Great Commission is our mission and we look forward to the great things God has in store for us.
